This beach is one of the four bathing places, located in the town of Anses d’Arlet. White sand beach and marine background of important biodiversity, do not hesitate to bring your mask and snorkel to observe this aquarium just under your feet. The town of Anses d’Arlet is also known for these seasonal villas, diving schools and restaurants by the sea.

To reach this beach (map below), head south of the island (A1, N5 then D7A) and take the exit Trois Ilets (D7), cross the town of Trois Ilets, then go towards Anse à l’Âne, go past this beach and continue straight up to climb a dizziness with many bends. You will pass the sign Gallochat then Ravine of Anse Noire, then after a few sharp turns, you will see a bus shelter and a sign telling you to turn right to the two handles, Anse Dufour and Anse Noire. Continue straight until you reach the beach of Anse Dufour. It will be the first one that you will see with a first car park. To access to Anse Noire you have to climb upper where you will find a second car park.

Vous pouvez aussi accéder à ces plages en partant du Diamant en empruntant la D7 qui vous fera passer notamment par un rond-point avec une sculpture de lambi. prenez la première à droite, vous arriverez vers la plage de Grande Anse d’Arlet (Attention le week-end, il y a un sens interdit pour longer la plage). Passez l’anse et montez le morne pour arriver jusqu’à cette même intersection et tournez à gauche.

Premier conseil : en haute saison, il s’agit d’une plage prisée des vacanciers et il s’avère qu’elle devient assez bondée au fil de la matinée. Partez au plus tôt pour arriver avant 9 heures afin de ne pas avoir trop de difficulté pour vous garer à proximité et d’avoir facilement une place sur la plage. Les places ombragées qui ne sont pas nombreuses sont vites prises. Qui plus est, vous aurez l’occasion d’avoir les fonds marin rien que pour vous.

You can also access to both beaches from the Diamante, take the D7 that will take you through a roundabout with a conch sculpture. Take the first right, you will then arrive at the beach of Grande Anse d’Arlet (be careful because on weekends, the road is in one sense forbidden to drive along the beach). Pass the cove and climb the dull to get to the intersection and then turn left.

First tip: In high season, this is a very popular beach and it is very crowed over the morning. Therefore, leave early in the morning to arrive before 9 am so you will have no problem to find a parking place, and you will have the opportunity to have the seabed just for you. The shaded places are not numerous and are quickly taken so the earlier you arrive the best place you will find.

The car parks are not very big and you may have to turn back and park on the side of the road that took you there.

The Beach of Anse Dufour

As you can see on the picture, the beach does not have many places in the shade, so not forget the sun protections, the sun can be dangerous between 10 am and 2 pm.

You can have a lunch break at one of the 3 beachside restaurants where you will have the opportunity to taste lobsters or other creole dishes (do not forget to book at the restaurant when arriving)

You have the choice to swim on either side of the cove, along the cliffs.
