L’Habitation Neisson est une distillerie située dans la commune du Carbet.

Ouvert du lundi au samedi de 8h30 à 17h et le dimanche de 9h30 à 17h.

Les visites guidées sont gratuites.

Pour accéder à l’habitation, depuis Fort-de-France (plus d’une heure de route), prendre l’A1 en direction du nord de l’île (Schoelcher, Case-Pilote). Traversez plusieurs ronds-points et vous voilà sur la N2. Continuez votre route et passez les villes de Case-Pilote, Bellefontaine, L’Habitation Neisson est au début de la ville du Carbet, vous le verrez sur votre droite.

Faites attention au chemin vers le parking, il est assez endommagé dans les endroits dus aux passages répétés des camions et des tracteurs pendant la récolte de la canne à sucre

Avancez au magasin pour pouvoir faire la visite guidée ou une dégustation des différents rhums offerts dans la boutique de la maison.

 

Un peu d’histoire……

Au 19ème siècle, beaucoup de distilleries de rhum étaient principalement des maisons de sucre. Ils ont distillé leur rhum à partir de la mélasse résultant de la fabrication du sucre. Le développement de l’invention de la machine à vapeur et son adoption dans les sucreries vont intensifier et concentrer la production de sucre dans les grandes usines. Les habitations isolées se concentreront alors exclusivement sur la production de rhum agricole, améliorée par l’adoption de la colonne à plateaux importée européenne remplaçant l’alambic. Après 1960, la fermeture de la plupart des maisons de sucre a mis fin à la production de rhum industriel. Le rhum agricole se déroule avec ses saveurs et son terroir, ce qui en fait un rhum reconnu mondialement.

Parmi les neuf distilleries encore fumantes, l’Habitation Neisson a été créée en 1932 par les frères Adrien et Jean NEISSON sur les terres de Thieubert. Ce rhum est une distillerie traditionnelle qui était déjà distinguée à l’époque.

Depuis lors, la distillerie NEISSON a conservé son indépendance et produit un rhum d’exception dans la plus pure tradition martiniquaise donnant un rhum aux parfums et goûts incomparables. L’activité de la distillerie correspond à la période de récolte de la canne à sucre qui a généralement lieu de la fin février à la fin juin.

Le 5 novembre 1996, le rhum Neisson obtient l’Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (A.O.C).

Aujourd’hui, il est géré par la fille et petit-fils de Hildevert-Pamphille Neisson, fondateur de la distillerie. La réputation de du rhum Neisson continue de croître à l’étranger, et les récompenses sont de plus en plus nombreuses.

 

Pour visiter le site, présentez-vous au magasin, un guide vous expliquera l’histoire et les différents procédés de fabrication de ce rhum exceptionnel. La visite est gratuite et des panneaux informatifs compléteront la présentation orale du guide.

Vous ferez le tour de la distillerie et vous aurez l’occasion d’observer la colonne de distillation.

 

 

Fin de la visite, vous pouvez maintenant goûter aux différents rhums de l’Habitation.

Personnellement, le rhum blanc Neisson à 52,5 ° m’a laissé un excellent souvenir de goût en ti-punch. Vous aurez également l’occasion de découvrir un rhum blanc Bio 66 ° avec une odeur et un arôme incroyables.

N’hésitez pas à parcourir leur site pour connaître les différents rhums conçus par Habitation Neisson.

 

En termes de conseils, Ø  Circulation en Martinique : En semaine, vous ferez face à des bouchons aux abords des zones industrielles ou commerciales, notamment le matin, dans le sens du Sud (Rivières Salée, N5) vers le Nord (Fort-de-France, A1) et de l’Est (Robert, N1) vers le Nord (Fort-de-France, A1), de 7h à 9h30, et inversement en fin de soirée de 17h00 à 18h30. Pensez à votre trajet afin de vous adapter à cette circulation qui peut être dense et vous faire perdre facilement du temps. Ø  Visite et dégustation gratuites : –           Intérêt : 3 sur 5, il s’agit d’une belle habitation avec son jardin botanique. Etant donné que le rhum n’est plus produit sur le domaine, vous n’aurez pas l’occasion d’avoir effluves de la fabrication du rhum. La boutique n’y est pas très grande et la dégustation et la vente du rhum se font au même endroit. Ø  Ouverture : Ouvert du lundi au samedi de 8h30 à 17h et le dimanche de 9h30 à 17h. Divers : Vous pouvez vous baigner sur la plage du Carbet, visiter les ruines de Saint-Pierre ou vous orienter vers la randonnée du Canal des Esclaves.

A bit of history…….

In the 19th century, many rum distilleries were mainly sugar houses. They distilled their rum from molasses resulting from the manufacture of sugar.
