What there is to know ….

In 1721, coffee was introduced to Guadeloupe by Gabriel de Clieu from his plantations grown on the island of Martinique.

Over the years, Guadeloupe coffee has been perpetuated in the town of Vieux Habitants through three producers: Vanibel, La Grivelière and Chaulet.

These three producers take advantage of the richness of the soils of Guadeloupe, giving the coffee a high organoleptic content. The environmental conditions of the island make it possible to cultivate a variety of Arabica, a Bonifieur coffee, which is used to give flavor to other coffee essences.

Bonifieur coffee is a very rare product, which makes it an exceptional coffee.

Another possible visit for gourmets, an artisanal chocolate factory is installed on the site. The building is free to enter and you can discover the equipment used in the production process of Chaulet coffee.

End of the visit, you can continue the tour of the site to contemplate the river located nearby in order to enjoy the setting while tasting the arabica coffee or the chocolate offered by paying the entrance to the museum.
