Welcome to the town of Saint-François, located southeast of Grande-Terre. This coastal town is a popular destination for boaters and visitors who like to enjoy the many white sand beaches and seaside restaurants.

La pointe des chateaux is a well- known place and to place to go in Guadeloupe. This community is also one of the starting points to the Désirade Islands, Marie-Galante or Petite Terre through its ferry terminal.

You will find in its village a  weekly covered market (local and artisanal products) and restaurants by the sea. In terms of services, there are a post office, distributors, many shops and a gas station located at the entrance of the village.

This territory takes advantage of its attractive environment to invite you to discover these many beaches and unvoidable places on and near this territory (islands).

The beach of Raisins Clairs is a large white sand beach on the Atlantic side, its turquoise waters and coconut trees will allow you to rest in the best conditions. Finally, a restaurant is located on the beach and local boui boui are located on the parking lot so you can have lunch and refresh yourself (sorbets, …).

The sea is not agitated but the beach is not monitored (be careful).

Itinerary

To reach the beach, from Pointe-à-Pitre, join the N1 expressway towards Le Gosier. You will join the N4 road which will take you along the South coast of Grande-Terre. You will cross the town of Sainte-Anne and a little before the village of Saint-François, you will see on your right the beach of Raisins Clairs. The beach is quite large and located on both sides of the grape cemetery.

Park on one of the car parks.

You have two large and spacious parking lots and a smaller one after the cemetery. You will not have any problem finding a place to park and the beach is easily accessible from these car parks.

Plage des Raisins Clairs

There are many carbets arranged along the beach, allowing you to have a picnic while enjoying the beautiful views of the waves and turquoise waters of this beach.

You’ll also find beachfront restaurants (The Raisins Clairs and La Plage) and local boui boui where you can have a drink or something to eat

This white sand beach is very wide and you will have no difficulty finding a relaxing place to swim and relax. But the beach is not very shady.

Watch out for the harmful effects of the sun.

I leave you now the pleasure of discovering it and having a good time!

Tips :

Ø Circulation in Guadeloupe: During the week, you will face traffic jams around the Jarry area, especially in the morning, in the direction of Gosier towards Pointe-à-Pitre or Petit-Bourg to Pointe-à-Pitre and vice versa. late afternoon. Think about your journey to adapt to this traffic that can be dense and make you lose time easily. Ø Equipment: Slides, swimsuit, towel, beach bag (knife, k-way, cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, mosquito repellent), mask, palm and snorkel.

Ø Health:

–          Quality of the bathing area: Excellent (Source: Ministry of Health, see map);

–          Access : Easily by car and little walk, no disabled access;

–         Sunscreen mandatory because the beach is well exposed to the sun, you can even have Lycras for children and adults;

–         Most important thing, always a bottle of water per person and a snack in your bag.

Others: Nearby you have the Pointe des Châteaux, you can enjoy the other beaches (Anse à la Gourde,.) of the town or go shopping in the market town market (spices, jewelry and other products local,…).
