Welcome to the island of Saint-Martin, located in the north of the Lesser Antilles and a land of sharing. Divided into two administrative parts and despite significant artificialization due to ever-increasing real estate pressure for tourist reception, the territory has managed to save and conserve biodiversity degraded by climatic events and man.

Days and nights, many activities will be offered to you throughout the territory.

The heavenly beaches and their water activities, hiking, visits and places to relax and party will allow everyone to find what they are looking for.

An ideal compromise suitable for either a weekend with friends or a family trip that the Island of Saint-Martin is the only one to offer you.

Let’s go and discover these white sand beaches.

Orient Bay Beach is a large white sand beach about 2 kilometers long. The sea is not very rough because the beach is protected by a coral reef of Caye Verte. The length of the beach and its turquoise waters make it a popular and very pleasant place for a swim with family or friends.

However, be careful of the harmful effects of the sun because there is no shade.

Think about lycras for children or even yourself (factor 50 sunscreen)

Itinerary

To reach the beach, from the airport, head towards the east of the island by taking the N7 towards Saline Orient. You will see an entrance on the left on the road into a residential development with a security gate. Take this path and cross the housing estate to reach the beach. It is located less than 10 minutes from the airport.

There is parking available upon your arrival in front of the beach near a seaside restaurant and bar.

Given the immensity of this beach, you can also reach it via Saline Orient and park in the opposite direction. However, near this side of the beach, a discreet place has been set up where people wishing to do naturism can go in complete peace of mind.

Once parked, the beach presents itself to you. You quickly notice the large size of the beach and especially the total lack of shade.

Beach Orient Beach

The panorama is magnificent with the hills on the left of the cove (Mont Vernon 1) and the view of Caye Verte in the middle of the turquoise waters.

As previously stated, it’s nothing if you’re looking for a spot of shade near the water’s edge, which is why deckchair services near seaside restaurants and bars are in place. It’s the chilling time of the holidays!

Nothing prevents you from also planning what you need to avoid blending into the crowd and choosing a quieter place to swim and relax.

You won’t have trouble finding a place given the size of the beach.

Enjoy the calm, translucent waters of this beach. The only drawback is that the sargassum tends to wash up in the center of the beach. In this case, you can stand on the left of the beach or on the right (but no longer reserved for nudists).

It’s up to you to discover it now!

In terms of advice,

Ø  Traffic on the island of Saint-Martin: Choose to rent a vehicle because the island is quite large. During the week, you will face a few traffic jams in the morning on the outskirts of the Marigot conurbation, in the south direction (Grand Case towards Le Marigot) from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and vice versa at the end of the evening from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Think about your journey in order to adapt to this traffic which can be heavy and easily cause you to waste time.

Ø Equipment: Slides, swimsuit, towel, beach bag (knife, k-way, cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, mosquito repellent).

Ø Health:

–          Quality of the bathing area: Excellent (Source: Ministry of Health, see map);

–          Accessibility: Easily by car, no disabled access and difficult to access at the level of the dune;

–         Sun cream obligatory because the beach is well exposed to the sun, even think about lycras for children and adults;

–          The most important thing, always a bottle of water per person and something to snack on in your bag.

Miscellaneous: Enjoy the island’s many beaches and other walking trails. The area is also full of water activities.
